Codes & Conventions in my work - from research into school magazines I decided that I would use a colour scheme as did the 'Top Terrace' magazine. The colours contrasted each other nicely and also showed up over the picture.
I also made sure that on my front cover, the full size, close-up, mid-shot was not not completley obscured with text and that the models face was show clearly. Also the models face was smiling, and she was carrying a notebook to make the picture seem more academic. Unlike the 'Bishop Briggs' magazine I decided that I would use a full size picture rather than small ones that left most of the page empty.
However, I decided that in my contents page I would leave some empty space so that everything could be clearly and easily read. I continued the colour scheme so that the magazine wasn't messy and contrasted too much.
